Armed Forces General Staff Warns of Iran’s ‘New Surprises’ against Any Aggression

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The General Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces cautioned the US and the Israeli regime that any renewed aggression would be met with a fierce response stronger than that of the 12-day war in June, warning that Iran has ‘new surprises’ in store.

In a statement released on Saturday, the General Staff of Iran’s Armed Forces commemorated the release anniversary of the prisoners of war from Iraq in the 1990s.

It gave a stern warning to the “criminal and evil US and the savage Zionist regime” to stop hatching plots against the invincible Iranian nation.

Iran has proved that no power would be able to speak to it with the language of force and threat, the statement said.

It also lashed out at the US and the Israeli regime for failing to learn lessons from the past and launching a war of aggression against Iran in June, saying their action ended in a humiliating and dismal failure.

The General Staff warned the US and Israel that any repetition of miscalculation or a new evil aggression will be met with “new surprises” from Iran and trigger much more devastating and crushing measures, stressing that what caused Iran to show self-restraint and prevented its extensive operations during the 12-day war would not happen again.

While the Zionist regime waged a war of aggression against Iran on June 13 and struck Iran’s military, nuclear and residential areas for 12 days, the US stepped in and conducted military attacks on three nuclear sites in Iran’s Natanz, Fordow and Isfahan on June 22.

The Iranian military forces conducted powerful counterattacks immediately after the aggression. The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps Aerospace Force carried out 22 waves of retaliatory missile strikes against the Zionist regime as part of Operation True Promise III that inflicted heavy losses on cities across the occupied territories.

Also, in response to the US attacks, Iranian armed forces launched a wave of missiles at al-Udeid air base in Qatar, the largest American military base in West Asia.

A ceasefire that came into force on June 24 brought the fighting to a halt.
