Iran Urges Collective Muslim Action to Curb Gaza Tragedy

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian called for concerted efforts by Islamic countries to contain the humanitarian catastrophe in the Gaza Strip.

In a telephone conversation with Prime Minister of Malaysia Anwar Ibrahim on Wednesday, the Iranian president stressed the need for collective efforts by the Muslim nations to stop the humanitarian tragedy in Gaza cause by the Israeli crimes.

Denouncing the unacceptable Israeli atrocities in Gaza, Pezeshkian said, “I hope the Islamic countries would prevent the continuation of these crimes in Gaza through active diplomacy and diplomatic pressures and act against them responsibly with solidarity and unity.”

Reaffirming Iran’s support for the rights of the Palestinian people, the president said the other Islamic governments should also adopt stronger and more active stances in support of Gaza.

For his part, Prime Minister Ibrahim said Malaysia has issued a strongly worded statement against the Israeli crimes in Gaza and has also launched extensive diplomatic efforts to stop the ongoing genocide in the besieged enclave.

He expressed hope that cooperation among the Muslim nations could put a halt to the Israeli crimes.

The Israeli regime’s war on Gaza has killed at least 61,020 people and wounded 150,671 since October 2023.

The Zionist regime has killed more than 18,000 children since the start of its genocidal war on Gaza.

UN experts and more than 150 humanitarian organizations have called for a permanent ceasefire to allow for aid deliveries into Gaza and the psychological recovery of what they’ve dubbed a “lost generation”.
