President Hails Iran-Pakistan Mutual Support in Tough Times

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran and Pakistan, as two Muslim neighbors, have stood united as friends during challenging times, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said.

In a meeting with his Pakistani counterpart Asif Ali Zardari, held in Islamabad on Sunday, Pezeshkian underscored the strong commitment of senior Iranian and Pakistani officials to enhancing relations across all sectors.

He expressed gratitude for the support provided by the government and people of Pakistan to Iran during the recent act of aggression by the Israeli regime.

Pezeshkian emphasized the historical, cultural, and ideological commonalities between the two nations as a robust foundation for fostering deeper interactions, his official website reported.

He also highlighted the importance of creating an environment conducive to cooperation among the people and private sectors of both countries, which would lead to a continuous increase in mutual interactions and the realization of shared interests.

The Iranian president also addressed the united stance of both countries in condemning the crimes perpetrated by the Zionist regime against the oppressed people of Gaza. He asserted that Iran and Pakistan must advocate for more effective measures to halt these injustices, noting that the unity of Islamic nations will be crucial in this endeavor.

For his part, Zardari acknowledged his country's support for Iran during the conflicts instigated by the Israeli regime.

"We consider Iran as our brother and believe that we must exert every effort to stop Israel's crimes against the oppressed people of Gaza and its provocations in the region," he added.

Zardari further expressed his country’s eagerness to expand relations with Iran, emphasizing that both nations possess significant potential for enhancing cooperation.

He concluded that the agreements reached during Pezeshkian’s visit to Pakistan represent a meaningful step forward in strengthening the ties between the two countries.
