Global Outrage Erupts over US Aggression against Iranian Nuclear Sites

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – A wave of international condemnation has followed the recent US military strikes on Iran’s peaceful nuclear facilities, with North Korea, China, Russia, and Venezuela denouncing the attacks as a blatant violation of international law and Iranian sovereignty.

North Korea strongly condemned the US attacks on Iran, describing them as a dangerous act and a breach of the Islamic Republic’s sovereignty, according to the state news agency.

During a United Nations Security Council session, representatives from China and Russia criticized the US aggression, calling it a flagrant violation of the UN Charter and international law.

“We strongly condemn the United States’ attack on Iran and the bombing of its nuclear facilities,” China’s envoy said.

He warned that Washington’s actions pose a serious threat to international norms and Iran’s sovereignty.

The Chinese diplomat added that the strikes undermine the global non-proliferation regime.

He further stressed the need for an immediate ceasefire to avoid escalating tensions.

China, Russia, and Pakistan also jointly submitted a draft resolution calling for an immediate and unconditional ceasefire following the Israeli aggression on Iran that started on June 13.

Russia’s representative echoed the condemnation, denouncing the United States' behavior as “reckless, provocative, and irresponsible.”

“We strongly condemn the dangerous actions of the United States against Iran,” he said.

In stark contrast, the US envoy openly defended the assaults on Iran, claiming they aimed to destroy Tehran’s nuclear capabilities.

Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro also condemned the US attacks, calling them “a heinous crime” that violates both international law and America’s own legal standards.

“I express my full solidarity with the noble people and government of Iran, and with the world that fights for sovereignty and peace,” Maduro stated.

Meanwhile, the leaders of the European troika—Britain, France, and Germany—adopted an arrogant stance, urging Iran not to respond to the US assaults.

They claimed that retaliation would destabilize the region and pressed Iran to return to negotiations addressing its nuclear program.

These European powers ignored the illegal US military aggression and falsely asserted their goal is to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons.

British and French representatives at the UN Security Council refused to condemn the US strikes.

The UK envoy claimed support for the IAEA’s work and urged Iran to cooperate.

France’s representative denied involvement in the planning or execution of the attacks but audaciously called on Iran to refrain from retaliation.

In response to the unlawful US aggression, Iran lodged a formal protest through the Swiss embassy, which represents US interests in Tehran.

Issa Kameli, Director General for the Americas at Iran’s Foreign Ministry, delivered a strong protest note to Swiss Ambassador Nadine Lozano.

The note condemned the US strikes, directly attributing responsibility to the American president.

It emphasized that the attacks clearly violated the UN Charter, international legal principles, the Non-Proliferation Treaty, and UN Security Council Resolution 2231.

Kameli reaffirmed Iran’s right to self-defense under Article 51 of the UN Charter and held the US government fully responsible for the political, legal, and international consequences of its aggression.

Ambassador Lozano assured that the protest note would be promptly conveyed to US authorities.
