China Evacuates Nationals from Occupied Territories
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – China has evacuated more than 270 of its citizens from the occupied Palestinian territories, the Chinese embassy said, emphasizing continued efforts to ensure the safety of Chinese nationals amid growing insecurity caused by Iran’s response to Israeli aggression.
The Chinese embassy in Tel Aviv said it has assisted over 270 Chinese nationals in departing the occupied territories as of Wednesday, June 18.
In a statement published on its official Weibo and WeChat accounts, the embassy confirmed that it had helped evacuate 155 individuals, including corporate staff, students, tourists, and temporary workers.
On Thursday, the embassy, in coordination with China’s diplomatic mission in Egypt, organized the evacuation of an additional 117 Chinese students and two Hong Kong residents from the occupied Palestinian territories.
A Chinese embassy official told the Global Times that except for one Chinese worker who sustained a minor injury, no casualties or serious harm among Chinese citizens had been reported.
He added that both the embassy premises and its personnel remain safe.
Amid intensifying confrontations between Iran and the Israeli regime, and what the Chinese mission described as a "complex and dangerous" security environment, the embassy reiterated its commitment to protecting Chinese nationals in the region.
State news agency Xinhua reported that 119 Chinese nationals entered Egypt on Thursday via the Taba border crossing in southern Sinai province.
According to a Xinhua correspondent at the scene, the evacuees completed immigration formalities and began entering Egyptian territory around 3:30 pm, before continuing their journey by bus.
