China Criticizes Israeli Aggression, Offers Mediation to Avert Wider Conflict
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Chinese President Xi Jinping criticized Israel’s military actions against Iran, warning of growing instability in the region and offering Beijing’s role as a mediator to restore peace.
Xi on Tuesday called for an immediate halt to escalating tensions between Iran and the Zionist regime, according to SCMP.
He emphasized that China's position is rooted in opposition to any violation of national sovereignty and regional peace.
“All parties should work to de-escalate the conflict as soon as possible and avoid further escalation of tensions,” Xi said, according to China’s official Xinhua News Agency.
“China stands ready to work with all parties to play a constructive role in restoring peace and stability in the Middle East,” he added.
Xi made the remarks during a meeting with Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on the sidelines of the China-Central Asia Summit in Astana, Kazakhstan.
He expressed deep concern over the Zionist regime’s military operations, which he said have ignited a new wave of instability across the region.
“Israel’s military actions against Iran have led to a sudden escalation of tensions in the Middle East, which deeply concerns China,” Xi stated.
He reiterated China’s opposition to the use of force and any act of aggression undermining sovereignty.
“We oppose any actions that infringe upon the sovereignty, security and territorial integrity of other countries,” Xi said.
“Military conflict is not the solution to problems, and rising regional tensions do not align with the common interests of the international community,” he stressed.
As the situation intensifies, the Chinese foreign ministry confirmed evacuation efforts for its citizens in both Iran and the occupied Palestinian territories.
Ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun said that several Chinese nationals have already been transferred to neighboring countries, though he provided no further details.
