Perseverance to Shorten War, Larijani Says amid Israeli Aggression
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Ali Larijani, an adviser to Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, described resistance as the key to an immediate termination of the war that the Zionist regime has imposed on Iran.
Larijani said in a televised interview on Thursday that if Iran shows perseverance, the Israeli war of aggression will end sooner.
He warned that lack of steadfastness against the enemy will lengthen the war, so that the society will either lose its dignity or have to sustain more pressures.
Nobody is looking for a lengthy war, Larijani noted, adding that an end to the war requires wisdom, although it has started following an unwise decision by the other side.
Today’s perseverance will push back the foe, but lack of resistance will allow the enemy to hold pressures, he warned.
“Today is the day that determines the fate. Resistance can change the future of the region. Such perseverance has materialized in the outlook of many ethnicities and faiths,” he stated.
The Leader’s adviser emphasized the need for all Iranians to support the Armed Forces, saying, “If Israel feels weakness, it will instantly go for negotiations, because it is a flimsy regime and is grappling with internal problems at present.”
Ridiculing the enemy’s mistaken view that external pressures could disturb the domestic situation in Iran and force the country to surrender, Larijani said the hostile plans backfired after all Iranian political currents, even some opposition groups outside Iran, stood by the Iranian Armed Forces in defense of the homeland.
Hailing the Iranian people’s persistence, awareness, and patience in the face of problems caused by Israeli bombardment and praising their backing for the Armed Forces, Larijani said such behavior has changed the equations in favor of Iran.
The Zionist regime waged an unprovoked war of aggression against Iran on June 13. It carried out airstrikes on Iran’s nuclear, military and residential sites that resulted in the martyrdom of scores of top military commanders, nuclear scientists and ordinary citizens.
The Iranian military forces started counterattacks immediately afterwards. They Islamic Revolution Guards Corps Aerospace Force has carried out 14 waves of retaliatory missile strikes against the Zionist regime as of June 19 as part of Operation True Promise III.
