Iran Reaffirms Support for Palestinian Resistance

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi said Iran will keep providing political, diplomatic and legal supports for the Palestinian people and resistance at the regional and international levels.

Deputy Secretary General of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine Jamil Mezher, who has visited Iran with a delegation of members of the Political Office of the movement, met on Monday afternoon with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi.

In the meeting, Araqchi praised the resistance and steadfastness of the Palestinian people against the brutal crimes of the Zionist regime, reaffirming Iran's recognition of the PFLP as one of the age-old resistance groups against the Zionist regime in occupied Palestine. He added that Tehran holds great respect for the PFLP and its martyred secretary general as well as its imprisoned leader.

Araqchi reaffirmed the principled and firm stance of Iran on the need to support the sacred cause of Palestine and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with al-Quds as its capital.

He said Iran will continue its full support for the Palestinian people and resistance, especially in the political-diplomatic fields, legal and international forums as well as regional and international organizations, particularly the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.

Iran's top diplomat appreciated the fighters and martyred leaders of the resistance in Palestine and Lebanon, stressing the necessity of bolstering unity among the Palestinian groups against the conspiracies of the Zionist regime.

Araqchi pointed to the developments following Operation Al-Aqsa Storm and the Zionist regime’s aggression against Gaza. He noted that these events have revived the position and importance of the Palestinian issue in the region, the Muslim world, and globally. He also voiced confidence that despite the horrific crimes of the Zionist regime, the ultimate victory belongs to the Palestinian people and resistance.

The deputy secretary general of the PFLP, for his part, commemorated the memory of Imam Khomeini, the martyrs former Iranian president Ebrahim Raisi, former foreign minister Hossein Amirabdollahian, and Lt. General Qassem Soleimani, as well as the martyred resistance leaders Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, Seyed Hashem Safiuddin, Ismail Haniyeh, and Yahya Sinwar.

On behalf of the PFLP's leader Ahmed Saadat, who has been imprisoned by the Zionist regime for over twenty years, and on behalf of the resilient people of Palestine, Mazhar thanked the leader, government, and people of Iran for their comprehensive support of the Palestinian people’s cause and resistance.

Mezher also briefed Araqchi on the situation in the West Bank, al-Quds, and the Gaza Strip. He further spoke about the Zionist regime’s move to intensify its crimes in Gaza with full support from the US.

Mezher noted that despite the escalation of genocide and the Zionist regime’s use of starvation as a weapon against innocent women and children and depriving them of water, the Palestinian people have foiled Tel Aviv's attempts to achieve its nefarious goals thanks to their resilience and resistance against the Zionist aggressors and occupiers.

Mezher underscored that this steadfastness and resistance will continue until the complete cessation of aggression and the realization of the Palestinian people's rights.
