Ravankhah Appointed Iran’s U-23 Football Team Coach
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Havadar football team head coach Omid Ravankhah was appointed as Iran’s U-23 football team head coach Sunday night.
Former Kheybar football team head coach Saeid Daghighi and Mojtaba Hosseini, the head coach of Aluminum, were among the candidates.
The Iran U-23 football team was without a coach after parting ways with Reza Enayati due to disappointing results in the 2022 Asian Games.
Iran has been drawn in Group I of the AFC U23 Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2026 Qualifiers along with UAE (H), Hong Kong, China, and Guam.
A total of 44 teams were drawn into 11 groups for the Qualifiers, which will be contested on September 1-9, 2025.
