Roberto Piazza: Iran Is Like My Country
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Volleyball coach Roberto Piazza says that Iran is like his country.
He is currently in Belgrade, Serbia for the 2025 Volleyball Nations League (VNL).
“We know that the fans in Iran follow the national team's situation, so we are very close to our family, fans and country. Iran is like my own country for me right now. That's why we are focusing all our attention on performing better than in the first week of the tournament,” Piazza said.
“I think we can now play a different way for the next four matches. However, it is important for me to go game by game. Think about the first game and then forget about it and move on to the next game.
“Now, we have to face Serbia in their home. There will probably be a lot of fans in the stadium. Of course, it's not the fans who play, it's the teams who do it. I spoke to the players and they know how to work,” the Italian coach concluded.
