Palestinian Fighters Kill, Injure 10 Israeli Soldiers in Northern Gaza Ambush

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Palestinian resistance fighters launched a new ambush against Israeli forces in the northern Gaza Strip on Tuesday, killing and wounding 10 soldiers, according to Hamas’ military wing, the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades.

The operation took place in Beit Lahia, where Palestinian fighters targeted Israeli troops in the Al-Atatra area using anti-personnel rockets.

Following the attack, Israeli military helicopters were seen flying over the area to evacuate casualties, Palestinian media outlet Quds reported.

Israeli warplanes also carried out overflights of Beit Lahia shortly after the ambush.

In a statement, the al-Qassam Brigades confirmed responsibility, saying, “We targeted the Zionist enemy’s forces in northern Gaza, inflicting deaths and injuries among their ranks.”

The incident comes amid a devastating and prolonged military campaign by the Israeli regime in Gaza.

Despite initial promises to “bring back hostages alive” and eliminate the Palestinian resistance, Israel has yet to achieve its declared goals. Some Israeli hostages have reportedly been killed in Israeli strikes.

Marking 600 days since the start of Israel’s “genocidal and starvation war” on Gaza, Hamas issued a statement calling for a global uprising against the ongoing occupation.

“Six hundred days have passed since the Zionist enemy launched a war of genocide and starvation against defenseless civilians in Gaza,” the statement said.

“We call on the Islamic nation and all free people of the world to make Friday, Saturday, and Sunday—May 30, 31, and June 1—days of global anger against the occupiers.”

Hamas expressed appreciation for international solidarity efforts but urged increased pressure against Israel’s blockade and military aggression.

Hamas also condemned Israel’s “blatant violations” of international and religious law during the course of the war.

The resistance group concluded by calling for mass demonstrations this coming weekend. “Let the coming days—Friday, Saturday, and Sunday—be global days of rage against the Zionist occupiers,” the statement read. “Let the voices rise in condemnation of genocide and hunger, in solidarity with Gaza, Al-Quds, and Al-Aqsa Mosque.”
