Israel Bombs Shelters, Kills 37 in Gaza
TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Israeli airstrikes early Monday targeted multiple sites across Gaza, including a school sheltering displaced Palestinians, killing at least 37 people and injuring dozens more, according to Palestinian health officials and local media.
Israeli forces struck a school in Gaza City’s Al-Daraj neighborhood where displaced Palestinians had taken refuge.
The strike caused a fire in the building and resulted in at least 20 fatalities, according to preliminary reports from local sources.
Rescue teams continue to search the rubble for survivors and to recover the bodies of the dead.
Images shared by Palestinian media showed charred bodies being pulled from the debris, with efforts ongoing to locate others possibly trapped beneath the ruins.
In a separate attack, Israeli warplanes targeted a residential building and makeshift shelters for displaced people along Al-Thawra Street in Gaza City.
That strike led to multiple deaths and injuries, though exact figures were not immediately confirmed.
Local reports indicated that dozens were killed or wounded in the early-morning assault.
Also on Monday, local media reported another airstrike on tents housing displaced Palestinians inside a kindergarten in Al-Maghazi refugee camp in central Gaza.
Several people were reported killed or wounded in that incident.
In another deadly attack, witnesses said an entire Palestinian family was killed in an Israeli strike on a residential building.
The Gaza Ministry of Health confirmed that 37 Palestinians were killed in total in Monday’s attacks.
Footage circulated by Palestinian outlets showed graphic scenes, including the dismembered bodies of children.
In one of the attacks, at least four people —mostly children— were killed, and dozens more were injured, according to initial reports.
The bombing campaign marks a continuation of Israeli genocidal war in Gaza, which have drawn international concern over the mounting civilian death toll.
