Israeli Military Launches New Wave of Airstrikes on Southern Lebanon

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Israeli forces carried out a fresh series of air and helicopter strikes on multiple areas in southern Lebanon early Friday, in what Lebanese sources have condemned as continued aggression.

Israeli warplanes and helicopters targeted several villages in southern Lebanon, including Shamaa, Wadi al-Azziyeh, and Deir Antar, according to early morning reports from Lebanese media.

Al-Mayadeen television reported that one Israeli helicopter fired on two prebuilt buildings in the village of Shamaa.

The village of Wadi al-Azziyeh came under attack twice, while Deir Antar was hit once, the report added.

The latest attacks mark an escalation that began Thursday, when Israeli fighter jets struck various areas in southern and eastern Lebanon.

The strikes killed one civilian and caused significant damage to private property, local sources said.

The air raids began with the bombing of a building in the town of Toul, in the Nabatieh Governorate.

That attack followed earlier warnings from the Israeli military about a possible strike on the site.

Subsequent air raids targeted additional locations, including Mahmoudiyeh, Barghoz, the heights of Iqlim al-Tuffah, and al-Rihan.

Areas between Touline and al-Sawaneh, as well as Wadi al-Azziyeh, were also struck.

Lebanese officials have condemned the Israeli operations as acts of unprovoked aggression, warning of rising civilian casualties and further instability in the border region.
