Israeli Drone Strike Hits Lebanese Army near Border
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – An Israeli drone strike injured a Lebanese soldier after targeting a vehicle near a Lebanese army checkpoint in southern Lebanon, marking another clear breach of the ceasefire.
The Israeli military on Sunday struck a vehicle near a Lebanese army checkpoint in Beit Yahoun, southern Lebanon.
The Lebanese army confirmed that one of its soldiers was wounded in the drone attack near the Beit Yahoun–Bint Jbeil checkpoint.
Military officials stated the soldier’s injuries were not life-threatening.
A day earlier, Israeli forces targeted another vehicle on the Zrariyeh–Abou el-Aswad road in southern Lebanon, again violating Lebanese sovereignty and the ongoing truce.
These repeated strikes by Israel highlight its continued defiance of UN Security Council Resolution 1701, which mandates the ceasefire.
Despite Lebanon's passive government response and the silence of international players, including France and the United State as members of the truce oversight committee, Israel persists in escalating its aggression.
The latest attack reflects a broader pattern of violations, extending now to direct assaults on Lebanese military personnel.
