Israeli Raids Intensify across West Bank amid Ongoing Jenin Offensive
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Israeli forces carried out a series of military raids across the occupied West Bank this week, injuring a Palestinian teenager, arresting several individuals, and demolishing multiple homes, amid ongoing operations in Jenin.
Israeli troops shot and wounded a 17-year-old Palestinian with a rubber bullet during clashes in the town of Abwein, the Palestinian news agency Wafa reported.
The forces also raided several homes in the area and ransacked their contents, the agency added.
In the village of Shuqba, near Ramallah, Israeli soldiers demolished a Palestinian house early Wednesday.
Further north, Israeli forces stormed homes in the town of Meithalun, near Jenin, and arrested two young men.
They later entered the nearby village of Anza and detained two more individuals.
The arrests came as Israel's military operation in Jenin entered its 114th consecutive day.
On the same day, Israeli forces invaded the village of Kisan, east of Bethlehem, and demolished a 100-square-meter home owned by Hussein Yousef Obeyyat.
According to local media sources, military vehicles, including bulldozers, surrounded and isolated the village before razing the structure.
Also on Wednesday morning, soldiers demolished another home in Shuqba, west of Ramallah.
On Tuesday, a Palestinian man in Jabal Al-Mukaber, south of occupied East Al-Quds, was forced by Israeli authorities to tear down his own house.
Earlier that day, Israeli forces conducted demolition and land-clearing operations in Anata, northeast of Al-Quds.
The Wall & Colonization Resistance Commission reported 75 demolition incidents by Israeli authorities in April, impacting 152 structures.
These included 98 inhabited homes, 10 unoccupied dwellings, and 34 agricultural facilities.
Tubas saw the highest number of demolitions with 59 structures targeted, followed by Hebron (Al-Khalil) with 39 and Al-Quds with 17.
While Israeli settlement expansion continues, Palestinians in occupied Al-Quds and across the West Bank face persistent barriers to obtaining building permits.
All Israeli settlements in the West Bank, including those in and around East Al-Quds, are illegal under international law, including the Fourth Geneva Convention and multiple UN resolutions.
Article 49 of the Fourth Geneva Convention states: “The Occupying Power shall not deport or transfer parts of its own civilian population into the territory it occupies.”
It also forbids “individual or mass forcible transfers, as well as deportations of protected persons from occupied territory.”
