Israel Launches Airstrikes on Hudaydah following Yemeni Missile Attack

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Israel, backed by the United States, launched dozens of airstrikes on Yemen late Monday following a failed interception of a Yemeni missile strike near Ben Gurion Airport.

More than 30 Israeli warplanes targeted Yemen’s western port city of Hudaydah in coordinated raids, according to local media.

A senior US official confirmed the strikes were conducted in close cooperation with Washington.
Yemen’s al-Masirah television reported that the United States had already carried out 35 airstrikes since May 4, hitting provinces including al-Jawf and Marib.

US, British, and Israeli forces have conducted daily air raids on Yemen since March, claiming to have hit over 1,000 sites.

The air campaign seeks to deter Yemen’s military from attacking Israeli and Israeli-linked vessels in the Red Sea and from launching missiles into Israeli territory in response to foreign aggression and Israeli atrocities in Gaza.

The latest escalation followed a Yemeni ballistic missile strike that landed near Ben Gurion Airport, halting operations and sending millions of Israeli settlers into shelters in occupied Palestine.

Yemeni Armed Forces spokesman Brigadier General Yahya Saree said the attack temporarily suspended airport operations and displayed Yemen’s growing strike capability.

He pledged continued resistance against the American aggression.

Hazam al-Assad, a senior official in Yemen’s Ansarullah movement, warned that ongoing Yemeni strikes and a planned aerial blockade would prompt a mass exodus from Israeli-occupied areas.

In a joint statement, Palestinian resistance groups condemned the Israeli air raids in Yemen as “systematic crimes” against civilians.

“These raids are a direct response to the Israeli regime’s failure to intercept Yemeni missiles,” the statement read.

Hamas labeled the strikes “state terrorism” and said they aimed to compensate for Tel Aviv’s strategic losses in Gaza.

The Palestinian Islamic Jihad Movement described the attacks as desperate retaliation by Israel and the US, meant to obscure mounting military failures.

Lebanon’s Hezbollah also denounced the raids as violations of international law and urged global resistance forces to take action against “Zionist-American arrogance.”

The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine said the airstrikes reflected the “impotence” of the Israeli-American alliance and praised the Yemeni response as a symbol of unity with the Palestinian struggle.
