Israel Mobilizes Tens of Thousands of Reservists to Expand Gaza Offensive
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Israel’s military has issued call-up orders to tens of thousands of reservists as it intensifies its military operations in the Gaza Strip, deepening the humanitarian crisis in the besieged enclave.
The Israeli army said on Saturday it was summoning tens of thousands of reservists to bolster its ongoing offensive in Gaza.
“These reservists will begin reporting to military units in the coming week,” the army stated.
The mobilization comes as conditions in Gaza continue to deteriorate.
Since March 2, Israel has blocked the entry of humanitarian aid, medicine, food, and commercial goods into the territory.
Nearly 52,500 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza since the Israeli military campaign began in October 2023, according to local authorities.
The majority of the victims are reported to be women and children.
In November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former defense minister Yoav Gallant.
The charges include war crimes and crimes against humanity in connection with the brutal war in Gaza.
Israel is also facing a genocide case at the International Court of Justice.
