Israeli Strikes Kill 30 in Gaza As Infant Dies from Starvation

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – At least 30 Palestinians were killed across Gaza on Friday as Israeli attacks intensified and a baby girl died from malnutrition amid a deepening humanitarian crisis, local medical officials said.

A baby girl, Janan Saleh al-Sakafi, died from malnutrition and dehydration at Rantisi Hospital in western Gaza City, Al Jazeera reported.

Her death follows more than two months of a complete Israeli blockade that has prevented the entry of food, water, and medical supplies since March 2.

Gaza’s Government Media Office said at least 51 people have died from starvation-related causes.

UNICEF earlier warned that around 335,000 children under five are at risk of death due to acute malnutrition.

Since dawn Friday, at least 30 people were killed in Israeli air and drone strikes across the enclave, according to local medical sources.

The intensity and scale of the latest attacks echo the opening phase of the war, with entire families reportedly erased from the civil registry.

Overnight strikes lit up skies from Khan Younis in the south to northern Gaza, with explosions destroying residential buildings.

In central Khan Younis, 17 people were killed, including 11 from one family and four from another.

A woman died from flying shrapnel during a drone attack in the eastern part of the city.

Another child was killed in a tent within the al-Mawasi evacuation zone.

In eastern Gaza City, rescue teams are attempting to recover bodies from rubble following a strike near Shujayea, where nine members of a family were reportedly killed.

The Gaza Health Ministry said 70 Palestinians were killed and 275 injured in the past 48 hours.

Seven additional bodies were retrieved from earlier attacks during that time, the ministry said.

Since October 7, 2023, 52,495 people have been killed and 118,366 wounded in Israel’s genocidal war, according to the ministry.

The toll since the March 18 collapse of the ceasefire stands at 2,396 killed and 6,325 injured.
