Iran to Meet Paraguay in Must-Win Game
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran knows that loss against Paraguay would jeopardize its chances of group-stage survival in the 2025 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup.
The two teams will lock horn on Saturday in Group B.
Iran defeated Mauritania in its opening match, while Paraguay lost to Portugal.
“Iran is strong, it has very good players like Portugal do. But we have quality players ourselves. I think it’s going to be a tough game. You can see that the level is very high at this World Cup,” Carlos Carballo, a Paraguay player, said.
“Paraguay is a powerful team. They have a good squad. We will analyze their match. We know it won’t be easy but we hope to go out and get three points,” Iranian player Movahed Mohammadpour said.
