Nuclear Training Center Opens in Central Iran
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The first phase of an international center for training in nuclear science was inaugurated in Iran’s central city of Isfahan on Thursday, September 26.
Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran Mohammad Eslami opened the training center this morning.
Isfahan has been chosen as the location of the international training center considering that the central province hosts a nuclear research institute, three research reactors, and a couple of nuclear industry companies.
The newly-inaugurated center is planned to integrate training programs in nuclear science in Iran and provide education at the international level.
The university students on scholarship will have the opportunity to receive high-level training in compliance with the latest international standards before starting out on careers in the nuclear industries.
The Iranian center also works in collaboration with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to give the students, alumni, and the nuclear industry experts special training.
The second and third phases of the training center, which include laboratories, a full-scale simulator of the Bushehr nuclear power plant, and dormitories, will come on stream within the next year.
In comments in May, Eslami said the international center would serve as an “influential hub” for training human forces to fulfill the purpose of promoting human resources in the nuclear industry.
