Teenage Palestinian Boy Shot Dead by Israeli Forces in Latest West Bank Raids
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – A 15-year-old Palestinian boy named Ahmed Ashraf Hmedat was shot and killed in the Aqbat Jabr refugee camp during the latest round of Israeli incursions on the West Bank, according to the Wafa news agency.
Hmedat was shot near a cemetery, and emergency crews were reportedly prevented from reaching him and another wounded individual, according to Wafa.
Hmedat later succumbed to his injuries. Israeli forces handed over his body to the Palestinian Red Crescent Society, while the condition of the second injured person remains unclear, Wafa added.
Israeli forces have detained at least 10 individuals, including a minor and several former prisoners, in a series of overnight raids across the occupied West Bank, as reported by the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society.
Israeli forces launched arrests last night in the governorates of Jenin, Hebron (al-Khalil), Bethlehem, and Nablus, according to the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society.
In the town of Beitunia, 4km (2.5 miles) from Ramallah, Israeli troops stormed a family’s apartment and arrested six relatives, reports the Wafa news agency.
Among those detained are a woman and her three brothers, all originally from the Gaza Strip, as per Wafa.
In a separate operation in ad-Dhahiriya, near Hebron, Israeli forces apprehended two brothers at their homes, Wafa reported.
Since October 7, when Israel launched its war on Gaza, raids in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem al-Quds have intensified.
The Palestinian Health Ministry states that at least 516 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli raids and shootings in the occupied West Bank over the past eight months.
The Jenin refugee camp, a frequent site of Israeli incursions, has seen heightened violence since October 7, escalating Palestinian resistance in the area.
In total, Israel has made 8,895 arrests in the West Bank since the war on Gaza began, often detaining individuals in their homes and at military checkpoints.
