Araqchi Renews Iran’s Support for Palestine in Meeting with Hamas Leader
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi praised the Palestinian people’s steadfast resistance against Israeli atrocities and reaffirmed Tehran’s unwavering support for their legitimate struggle, stressing the need for coordinated action to halt the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
Araqchi made the comments at a meeting in Doha with Khalil al-Hayya, head of Hamas in Gaza, and several members of the group’s leadership council and political bureau.
The discussion focused on the latest political and field developments in Gaza, the continuation of Israeli genocidal actions, efforts to halt these crimes, and the exchange of prisoners.
The Iranian foreign minister praised the legendary resilience of the Palestinian people in the face of unprecedented Israeli atrocities and reaffirmed Iran’s principled stance in supporting the legitimate and lawful resistance of the Palestinian nation against occupation until the full rights of the Palestinian people are realized.
Denouncing the intensification of Israeli attacks in Gaza and the West Bank—including imposing hunger and famine on innocent civilians and killing women and children in food distribution lines—Araqchi described the global wave of protests and demonstrations as a clear sign of international awareness of the Zionist regime’s ongoing genocide in occupied Palestine.
He also stressed the need for continued and coordinated action by Islamic countries to stop these atrocities, deliver immediate humanitarian aid, and hold the leaders of the criminal Israeli regime accountable.
Al-Hayya, for his part, provided a detailed update on the latest developments in Gaza, ongoing efforts to halt Israeli crimes, and the prisoner exchange process.
He expressed gratitude for the support of Iran’s leadership, government, and people, and also praised the solidarity of freedom-loving peoples across the region and the world—particularly the heroic people of Yemen—with the Palestinian cause.
He underscored that despite committing heinous crimes, the Israeli regime cannot overcome the determination and resolve of the Palestinian people to resist and defend their legitimate rights.
Khalil al-Hayya also emphasized the urgent need for global mobilization to lift the blockade on Gaza, deliver immediate humanitarian aid to the Palestinian people, and effectively counter Israel’s policies of occupation, genocide, and regional aggression.
