Red Notice Warrant Issued for Son of Ex-Iranian Deputy Minister
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – An international red notice has been issued to locate, arrest and extradite Yassin Ramin, the son of a former deputy minister of culture, the Iranian Judiciary’s spokesman said.
Speaking at a press conference on Tuesday, Asghar Jahangir said Yassin Ramin has been listed under the red notice alert.
Ramin has recently been convicted by Iran’s court of appeals following a complaint lodged by the Iranian Red Crescent Society’s medical logistics organization.
Ramin, 43, has been sentenced to prison. The court has also ruled that he should recompense the IRCS for the financial resources he had gained illegally.
The Judiciary spokesperson said a red notice was issued on May 15 to arrest and extradite Ramin through international procedures.
In May 2019, a court in Tehran sentenced Ramin to seven years in jail.
The businessman and an importer of medicine and medical equipment is widely believed to have been involved in a case of import of expired infant formulas.
He is also an ex-husband of Iranian actress Mahnaz Afshar, who has appeared in anti-Iranian television networks after emigration.
