Iran Defeats Afghanistan at 2024 AFC U-23 Asian Cup Qualification
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran beat Afghanistan 4-0 at the 2024 AFC U-23 Asian Cup qualification on Saturday.
Mohammad Ghorbani was on target in the 30th minute and Hossein Goudarzi scored the second goal in the 37th minute.
Allahyar Sayyadmanesh made it 3-0 in the 59th minute at the JAR Stadium in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
Mohammad Javad Hosseinnezhad scored the fourth goal in the 75th minute.
Reza Enayati’s boys, who defeated Hong Kong 3-0 in their opening match, will face Uzbekistan on September 12 in Group E.
A total of 16 teams will qualify to play in the final tournament, including Qatar who qualified automatically as host.
In each group, teams will play each other once at a centralized venue. The 11 group winners and the four best runners-up qualify for the final tournament.
