Iran’s Jan, Karami Take Medals in Weightlifting: ISG 2021
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Weightlifters Peyman Jan and Mehdi Karami of Iran claimed two medals in the 2021 Islamic Solidarity Games on Monday.
Jan won the silver (166-216-382) and the bronze medal went to Karami (173-207-380) in the men’s 109kg class.
Uzbekistan weightlifter Ruslan Nuridinov won the gold with 187kg in snatch, 230kg in clean and jerk, and 417kg in total.
The 2021 Islamic Solidarity Games are being held in Konya, Turkey, from August 9 to 18, 2022. It is a multinational, multi-sport event that is played between the athletes from the nations of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
