Sepahan Coach Omidian Rues Missed Chances against Al Wehdat
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Sepahan coach Jalal Omidian expressed frustration over his team’s inability to secure victory – which left the Iranian side three points behind second-placed Sharjah ahead of the final matchday of the 2024-25 AFC Champions League Two.
Sepahan was held to a 1-1 draw against Jordan’s Al Wehdat in Group C at the Grand Hamad Stadium in Doha on Tuesday.
The result took Al Wehdat to 11, assuring them a top two finish while Sepahan, on seven points, are three behind Sharjah FC of the United Arab Emirates going into next week’s final matchday.
“I’m really upset about what happened. We deserved to win the game,” said Omidian.
“The job is not over. We need to perform at our best in the next game to qualify for the next round,” he added.
