Hezbollah Once Again Shattered Myth of Israel’s Invincibility, Iran’s FM Says
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi hailed the Lebanese Hezbollah resistance movement for shattering the myth of Israel’s invincibility again.
In a post on his X account on Wednesday, the top Iranian diplomat said it is high time for Israel to accept defeat in Gaza after being defeated in Lebanon.
“Over the past year, (Israeli prime minister Benjamin) Netanyahu has milked US taxpayers of tens of billions of dollars to fund his war crimes, all while enjoying full US military support and political cover,” Araqchi said.
“He was still forced to plead for a ceasefire, after heavy casualties in southern Lebanon. Hezbollah once again shattered myth of Israel’s invincibility,” he stated.
“It is high time for Israel to accept defeat in Gaza too,” Araqchi went on to say.
A ceasefire between the Israeli regime and Lebanon took effect on Wednesday, marking a pause in over a year of Israeli aggression against the south of the Arab country, which claimed lives of thousands of civilians.
As part of the deal, Israel will begin a gradual withdrawal of its forces from southern Lebanon over the next 60 days, with Lebanese state security forces set to take control of the area.
Following the truce announcement, Hezbollah warned it was fully ready to counter further potential Israeli aggression against Lebanon, while stressing the ceasefire was driven by the movement’s thousands-strong triumphant operations.
