Daily COVID Death Toll Drops to 3 in Iran
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran recorded only three coronavirus-related deaths on Tuesday as the pandemic appears to have been tackled after around 27 months of efforts.
The figures released by the Iranian Health Ministry on Tuesday indicate that the total deaths from COVID-19 in the country have reached 141,192, as the pandemic has taken the lives of only three patients over the past 24 hours.
Over the past 24 hours, 460 new cases of COVID-19 infection were reported, with 82 of them hospitalized, the ministry added.
More than 7,010,000 individuals have recovered or been discharged from hospitals out of a total of 7,226,200 ones who have contracted the disease, it said.
Some 830 victims of COVID-19 are in severe condition and are being treated in intensive care facilities, it added.
The ministry also said that over 64.39 million Iranians have received the first dose of the coronavirus vaccine, over 57.64 million have received the second dosage, and more than 27.21 million have gotten the booster shots.
The number of people infected with COVID-19 across the world has surpassed 517 million and the death toll has exceeded 6.27 million.
