Pandemic in Iran: 180 New COVID Cases Hospitalized
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The number of coronavirus patients admitted to the hospital across Iran over the past 24 hours stood at 180, the Health Ministry said on Monday.
The new figures released by the Health Ministry indicate that the total number of people who have tested positive for COVID-19 infection in Iran has exceeded 7,217,100 following the detection of 1,077 new cases since yesterday.
Of the new cases detected in the past 24 hours, 180 patients have been admitted to the hospital.
At least 6.96 million patients have recovered from the coronavirus infection so far or have been discharged from hospitals across Iran.
The ministry also put the death toll from COVID-19 in Iran at 140,996, saying the disease has taken the lives of 21 patients over the past 24 hours.
Among those undergoing treatment in medical centers at present, 1,031 coronavirus patients are in the intensive care units, it said.
The ministry added that over 64.28 million Iranians have received the first dose of the coronavirus vaccine, over 57.47 million have received the second dosage, and more than 26.93 million have gotten the booster shots.
The number of people infected with COVID-19 across the world has surpassed 509 million and the death toll has exceeded 6.24 million.
