Iran Reports 23 New Deaths from COVID-19

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The daily death toll from the coronavirus pandemic in Iran has stood at 23, the Health Ministry said on Tuesday.

The new figures released by the Health Ministry indicate that the death toll from COVID-19 in Iran has reached 140,877 after the disease took the lives of 23 patients over the past 24 hours.

The total number of people tested positive for COVID-19 infection in Iran has exceeded 7,210,700 following the detection of 1,820 new cases since yesterday.

Of the new cases detected in the past 24 hours, 246 patients have been admitted to the hospital.

At least 6,952,000 patients have recovered from the coronavirus infection so far or have been discharged from hospitals across Iran.

Among those undergoing treatment in medical centers at present, 1,264 coronavirus patients are in the intensive care units.

Over 64.22 million Iranians have so far received the first dose of the coronavirus vaccine, over 57.4 million have received the second dosage, and more than 26.82 million have gotten the booster shots.

The number of people infected with COVID-19 across the world has surpassed 505 million and the death toll has exceeded 6.22 million.
