Pandemic in Iran: Daily Deaths Down to 23, Hospitalizations below 200
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The daily death toll from the coronavirus in Iran decreased again on Saturday, standing at 23, while fewer than 200 patients have been admitted to the hospital across the country.
According to the figures released by the Iranian Health Ministry on Saturday, the total number of deaths from COVID-19 in the country has reached 140,800, as the disease has taken the lives of 23 patients over the past 24 hours.
Since yesterday, 1,015 new cases of COVID-19 infection were reported, with 195 of them hospitalized, the ministry added.
More than 6,942,200 individuals have recovered or been discharged from hospitals out of a total of 7.2 million ones who have contracted the disease, it said.
Some 1,400 victims of COVID-19 are in severe condition and are being treated in intensive care facilities, it added.
The ministry also said that over 64.17 million Iranians have received the first dose of the coronavirus vaccine, over 57.32 million have received the second dosage, and more than 26.71 million have gotten the booster shots.
The number of people infected with COVID-19 across the world has surpassed 503 million and the death toll has exceeded 6.22 million.
