COVID Vaccines Injected in Iran Surpass 60 Million Doses
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Iranian Health Ministry said on Wednesday that more than 60 million jabs of COVID-19 vaccines have been injected across the country.
New figures released by the Health Ministry indicate that more than 60.41 million doses of coronavirus vaccines have been administered in the country as of Wednesday, with over 42.92 million people having received the first dose of the vaccine.
While more than 32.82 million coronavirus diagnostic tests have been carried out in Iran so far, the total number of people tested positive has exceeded 5,662,400 following the detection of 10,497 new cases since Tuesday.
Of the new cases detected in the past 24 hours, 1,805 patients have been admitted to the hospital.
At least 5,153,000 patients have recovered from the coronavirus infection so far or have been discharged from hospitals across Iran.
The ministry also put the death toll from COVID-19 in Iran at 121,779, saying the disease has taken the lives of 216 patients over the past 24 hours.
Among those undergoing treatment in medical centers at present, 5,598 coronavirus patients are in the intensive care units.
The number of people infected with COVID-19 across the world has surpassed 236 million and the death toll has exceeded 4.83 million.
