Over Half A Million Patients Recover from COVID-19 in Iran
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – More than 500,000 coronavirus positive cases have recovered from the infectious disease in Iran, the Health Ministry said.
Speaking at a daily press conference on Wednesday, Sima Sadat Lari said at least 500,400 patients have recovered from the coronavirus infection so far or have been discharged from hospitals across the country.
She also put the death toll from the novel coronavirus in Iran at 36,579, saying the disease has taken the lives of 419 patients over the past 24 hours.
The total number of people tested positive for COVID-19 infection in the country has risen to 646,164 following the detection of 8,452 new cases since Tuesday noon, the spokeswoman added.
Of the new cases detected in the past 24 hours, 2,852 ones have been admitted to the hospital, she said.
Among those undergoing treatment in medical centers at present, 5,426 patients have critical health conditions because of more severe infection, Lari noted.
She went on to say that more than 5,073,000 coronavirus diagnostic tests have been carried out in Iran so far.
The number of people infected with COVID-19 across the world has surpassed 47.5 million and the death toll has exceeded 1.21 million.
