Truck Displaying Palestinian Flag Firebombed in Sydney
TEHRAN (Tasnim) - A truck bearing a Palestinian flag and the words "Free Palestine" was firebombed in western Sydney, Australia, with the owners suspecting political motives.
Security footage showed a suspect approaching the vehicle in Dharruk before hurling a firebomb underneath it.
The attacker fled on foot as the truck caught fire, 7News reported on Thursday.
The vehicle, adorned with slogans such as “Free Gaza” and “Free Palestine” for over two years, has constantly been the target of threats.
The owners reported a recent threat on Sunday, but this marks the first instance of physical damage to the truck.
“This is driven by hatred. It is directed at someone who is peacefully protesting, peacefully expressing their freedom of speech,” said one owner.
Police have not confirmed a political motive, stating that the investigation is ongoing.
