Spain’s Prime Minister Blasts Europe’s Complicity in Gaza Carnage

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Spain’s Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez condemned Europe’s stance on Israel’s war against Gaza, calling it a “failure” that shatters the European Union’s credibility on the global stage.

“It is a failure,” Sanchez declared. “Absolutely. It is also the reality that, within the EU, there are countries that are divided when it comes to how to influence Israel. In my opinion, it’s not acceptable and we can’t last longer if we want to increase our credibility when it comes to other crises, such as the one we face in Ukraine.”

Sanchez described the situation in Gaza as “one of the darkest episodes of international relations in the 21st century,” reiterating his criticism of Israeli atrocities. He was the first European leader to call the massacre in Gaza a genocide.

The latest wave of Israeli attacks has left at least 13 Palestinians dead since dawn, underscoring the ongoing slaughter. In Gaza City’s Daraj neighborhood, three people were killed when occupation warplanes struck a home. Hours later, another strike on an apartment block in western Gaza City killed five more civilians.

Further south near Nuseirat camp, an Israeli drone targeted a residential area, injuring five Palestinians.

Since the start of the Zionist regime’s war in October 2023, at least 63,633 Palestinians have been killed and 160,914 wounded in the besieged enclave — a relentless campaign of bloodshed that Europe’s silence has enabled.
