President Congratulates Iran Youth Team on Winning FIVB U-21 World Championship
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian praised the country’s youth volleyball team following their victory at the U-21 Volleyball World Championship in China.
In a message to the Iranian nation, the president commended both the coaches and athletes for their commitment and outstanding performance.
Pezeshkian highlighted that the success of these young athletes is a testament to their determination, demonstrating that Iran is capable of achieving new heights on the global stage, the website of the president’s office reported.
He said this championship win represents a significant milestone in the history of Iranian sports, elevating the nation's reputation in the international arena. He pointed out that the team's continuous victories over formidable volleyball powerhouses reflect the faith, courage, high aspirations, and exceptional abilities of Iran's youth, reaffirming that the Islamic Republic can consistently reach new heights and cultivate its remarkable talents.
The president concluded his message by wishing the team ongoing success and expressing hope for even greater accomplishments in future international competitions, thereby reinforcing the spirit of excellence in Iranian sports.
Iran defended its title in the 2025 FIVB Volleyball Men’s U-21 World Championship, beating Italy 3-1 (15-25, 25-18, 25-22, 25-14) on Sunday.
In the 2023 edition held in Manama, Iran had defeated Italy 3-2 in the final.
It was Iran’s ninth win in the competition as the young Persians had defeated Kazakhstan, Puerto Rico, South Korea, Canada, Poland, Argentina, China and the US in the competition.
The competition was held in Jiangmen, China from August 21 to 31.
