Resistance to Give Harsh Response to Zionists for Attack on Yemen: IRGC
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The IRGC condemned the Israeli regime’s recent fatal airstrike on Sana’a as a brazen war crime and a case of state terrorism, warning that the Islamic resistance forces in the region, especially the Yemeni nation, will give the Zionist criminals a crushing response.
In a statement released on Sunday, the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps described the attack on Yemen’s capital, which took the lives of Prime Minister Ahmad al-Rahawi and several cabinet ministers and aides, as a blatant war crime against humanity and a brazen example of state-sponsored terrorism.
The heinous act reflects the Zionist regime’s cruelty and inhumanity, it added, highlighting the responsibility of supporters of the Israeli regime and those who remain silent in the face of Israeli crimes, particularly in Gaza.
The IRGC further condemned Israel’s “inhuman and expansionist” nature, noting that the regime, with full US support and international silence, continues its aggression, terror, and acts of genocide that pose a serious threat to regional and global security.
It also warned that the Islamic resistance forces, especially the resilient Yemeni nation, relying on faith, determination, and support from free nations worldwide, will respond decisively to the Zionist regime.
The IRGC further called on the Islamic governments, international organizations, and human rights bodies to end their silence and inaction, take firm and practical measures, and support Yemen and the oppressed people of Gaza to create conditions for halting Israel’s ongoing crimes and aggression.
The Ansarullah movement said in a statement on Saturday that Al-Rahawi, who served as prime minister in areas of Yemen that the movement controls, was targeted along with other members of the government during a workshop.
“We shall take vengeance, and we shall forge from the depths of wounds a victory,” Mahdi al-Mashat, a Yemeni politician and military officer who serves as the chairman of the Supreme Political Council of Yemen, said in a video message.
The Israeli regime has repeatedly targeted Ansarullah positions in recent months as the Yemeni group has launched attacks on the occupied territories and on Western vessels in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden, in a show of support for Palestinians in Gaza.
