Pezeshkian: Islamic Unity Only Path to Stop Zionist Aggression

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said the recent Israeli attack on Qatar proved that no Muslim country is safe from the Zionist regime’s crimes, stressing that the only effective response is unity of the Islamic Ummah to confront Israel’s terrorism and end its genocide in Gaza.

The Iranian president made the remarks during an extraordinary Arab-Islamic Summit in Doha on Monday, held to adopt a unified stance against the crimes of the Israeli regime against Muslim nations.

The full text of the president's speech is as follows:

In the name of God, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful

Dear brother Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, esteemed Emir of Qatar, thank you for convening this meeting. I extend my greetings to all the presidents and heads of Islamic countries.

The brazen aggression of September 9, 2025, against Qatar was a preplanned attack by the Israeli regime aimed at undermining diplomatic efforts to end the genocide in Gaza. This aggression against diplomacy is more than a crime; it is a blatant and shameless declaration that military power, not law, is now the determining factor. Unfortunately, the terrorists ruling Tel Aviv have become bolder, feeling immune after a similar betrayal of diplomacy in June 2025 and the onset of an aggressive war against my people.

There should be no doubt that last week's attacks on Doha were pure terrorism; evidence that the Tel Aviv regime has set aside any moral and legal constraints.

But let’s speak frankly about how we arrived at this moment. This attack did not arise from a vacuum; it is the inevitable result of decades of impunity granted to the Israeli regime, made possible by certain Western powers. For a long time, the world has witnessed the construction of a fortress of support around this regime, with each brick laid through US vetoes, European trade agreements, and the paralysis of the judicial and international systems.

In the past two years, Gaza has endured horrific crimes that have tested the conscience of humanity. Today, Gaza is burning: over 64,000 Palestinians have been martyred in less than two years; children are starving while the world merely watches and expresses condemnation. The International Court of Justice has ruled that the actions of the Israeli regime constitute genocide, yet the killing machine continues its work and has now extended its reach to the soil of Qatar.

Your Excellencies,

We must recognize the dangerous path we are facing. The Israeli regime has bombed several Muslim countries in 2025. Each attack and aggression by this regime are justified as legitimate defense, and each time it is met with ambiguous responses from Western countries and empty condemnations.

We must also name the accomplices that make these crimes possible. When a rogue regime receives weapons, funding, and diplomatic support under any circumstances, it learns that there are no limits. When vetoes and double standards paralyze the international system, impunity spreads like decay. History will remember the sins of those who supported this aggression.

We owe two things to the Palestinian people and to all who believe in justice: clarity of speech and action. In terms of clarity, it must be stated that the crimes of the Israeli regime are not isolated incidents; they are part of a doctrine of domination, cleansing, and instilling fear, a strategy of ethnic cleansing, expansionism, and aggression that is reinforced with the complicity of the US and some Western countries.

However, in terms of action, it must be said that words do not end genocide. We must isolate the aggressor, cut off its weapons and funding, and hold its leaders accountable in courts of justice.

But these actions will not be effective without unity. The Israeli regime has counted on our rivalries and conflicting priorities.

The attack on Doha has transformed many erroneous equations and thoughts, showing that no Arab or Muslim country is safe from the aggression of the Tel Aviv regime. Tomorrow, it could be any of the Arab and Islamic capitals. The choice is clear; we must unite. Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) stated during the conquest of Mecca: Indeed, Muslims are brothers; a Muslim is a brother to another Muslim, and they are like one hand against others.

Your Excellencies,

The Israeli regime and its supporters should know: the attack on Doha was not a sign of power, but rather of desperation and helplessness. A regime that is confident in its position does not need to bomb negotiators. You have crossed every red line; you have ignored every logic and law; you have violated every principle of civilized behavior; but inadvertently, you have done something significant: you have awakened the collective will of the Islamic Ummah. Your victimhood narrative has become stale and ineffective. The world sees, records, and remembers.

The Israeli regime has declared war against our sovereignty, dignity, and future. In response, we declare: we will not be intimidated, we will not be divided, and we will not remain silent. From the ashes of Gaza, justice will rise. From the rubble of destroyed buildings in Doha, Beirut, Tehran, Damascus, and Sana'a, a new order will emerge; an order not based on hypocrisy, but on Islamic unity, not on Zionist superiority, but on brotherhood and human equality. 'Whoever hears a man calling out, "O Muslims!" and does not respond is not one of them. Whoever is indifferent to the affairs of Muslims is not one of them.' The punishment and accountability of the aggressors must begin.

Thank you very much.
