Iran at Peak of Deterrence, Says IRGC Commander

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - The IRGC Commander said Iran’s reliance on domestic defense power has placed the Islamic Republic at the height of its deterrence strength, warning adversaries against miscalculation.

In a message marking the country’s National Defense Industry Day, the Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Major General Mohammad Pakpour praised Iran’s defense achievements.

In his message to Defense Minister Brigadier General Aziz Nasirzadeh, Pakpour said the progress of the defense sector reflects “faith, self-belief, innovation, and the tireless efforts of the nation’s devoted and revolutionary youth.”

Pakpour added that under the guidance of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, these advances have laid the foundation for Iran’s defensive independence and deterrence.

“Today, relying on these capabilities, the Islamic Republic stands at the peak of its deterrence power,” he said.

Referring to the recent 12-day war involving the United States and Israel against Iran, Pakpour said the episode showed once again that comprehensive power-building and reliance on domestic capacity prevent adversaries from realizing their objectives and deter further aggression.

He emphasized the need for close coordination between the Defense Ministry and the armed forces to strengthen security.

“I am confident that by continuing along this path, a brighter and more glorious future will be secured for the Islamic Revolution and the country’s lasting security,” he said.

Pakpour also issued a warning to Iran’s adversaries, stating that the armed forces remain vigilant under the leadership of the Commander-in-Chief.

“Any miscalculation by the enemy will be met with a decisive, swift, and regretful response,” he said.

Iran observes August 22 as National Defense Industry Day to highlight the development of its indigenous defense capabilities, pursued despite sanctions and regional challenges.
