2025 FIVB U-21 World: Iran Well-Prepared to Defend Title: Momeni Moghadam

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran head coach Gholamreza Momeni Moghadam says the team is ready to defend its title at the 2025 FIVB Volleyball Men's U-21 World Championship.

Iran will open with Kazakhstan on Thursday.

The young Persians will also face Puerto Rico (August 22), South Korea (August 23), Canada (August 25), and Poland (August 26).

Momeni Moghadam notes that the squad has favorable conditions to start the World Championship and is taking a step by step approach to earn the necessary points in the group stage.

Iran defeated France 3-1 and Brazil 3-0 in two friendly matches ahead of the competition.

“Our players performed well in physical conditioning, technique, and tactics in these warm-up matches. I’m satisfied with the players’ performances. Although results in warm-ups aren’t the main focus, we won both games, which is important for boosting the players’ confidence,” he said.

He emphasized entering the World Championship with confidence, acknowledging the high level of competition.

The 23rd edition of the U-21 FIVB World Championship will be held in China from August 21 to 31, 2025.
