Israel’s Forced Eviction of Gazans Aimed at Complete Destruction of Palestinian Identity: Iran

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs denounced the Israeli regime’s decision to force Palestinians from their homes and shelters to southern Gaza, saying it is aimed at complete destruction of the national identity of the Palestinians in the enclave.

In a statement on Sunday, Iran’s Foreign Ministry said the simultaneity of Israel’s forced displacement of the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and its so-called “Greater Israel” plan exposed the regime’s danger to regional and international peace and security.

The Foreign Ministry said the forced eviction of the Gaza residents has been designed to completely destroy the national identity of the Palestinians in the Strip and complete their genocide.

It added that the simultaneity of this Israeli crime with the “brazen and highly dangerous” claim of the regime’s prime minister regarding the attempt to shape the idea of a “Greater Israel” – which includes a vast portion of Muslim‑Arab lands – “shows the domineering nature of the occupying Zionist regime and the great danger this regime has posed to the peace and security in the region and across the world.”

It noted that the residents of Gaza City have been under the most intense bombardment for nearly two years and faced starvation imposed by the Israeli regime in the last five months.

“The occupying regime’s decision for the forced displacement of the residents of Gaza City…is a clear example of war crimes and crimes against humanity, which has no aim but to complete the plan of genocide and to eliminate Palestine as a nation and identity,” the ministry emphasized.

It said such decisions are the result of the entrenched impunity for the criminal Israeli leaders, full military and political support of the United States and some European countries for the regime and the lack of serious action by the United Nations Security Council and international courts to prosecute the Israeli leaders.

According to the statement, Iran warns against the Israeli regime’s plot to intensify the killing of Palestinians and commit more crimes under the pretext of relocating the people of Gaza City to the south of the Strip.

The ministry urged the international community, especially Muslim countries, to take swift act to stop the Israeli regime’s warmongering and genocide against the Palestinian people.

It warned that inaction in the face of the racist Zionist regime’s oppression and savagery will provoke it to continue its crimes and criminal expansionism.

In a statement published on its Telegram channel on Sunday, the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas condemned Israel's plan to occupy Gaza City and relocate its population as a clear violation of international law, warning that the move represents a new phase of genocide and forced displacement of hundreds of thousands of people in the region.

Hamas also on Wednesday denounced Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s recent comments in support of a so-called "Greater Israel" scheme, which reflect the “madness and delirium” that govern his behavior and his extremist ruling gang.

Netanyahu told Israeli media on Tuesday that he feels a deep connection to "this vision" of a “Greater Israel,” referring to the Israeli-occupied Palestinian territories as well as parts of Egypt, Jordan, Syria, and Lebanon, and described it as “a historical and spiritual mission.”

Since the beginning of Israel’s genocidal war on Gaza 22 months ago, at least 61,944 Palestinians have been killed and 155,886 wounded, according to health officials. Nearly 1,938 people seeking food and aid have been killed since late May, when Israel started a US-backed aid distribution system through the controversial Global Humanitarian Foundation (GHF).
