Protests Erupt in World over Israel’s Deliberate Attack on Journalists

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Palestinians held funerals for the five Al Jazeera journalists killed by the Israeli regime in Gaza, as protesters rallied around the world, including London, Berlin, Tunis and Ramallah, to denounce the targeted attack.

The European Union, China and Israel’s close ally, Germany, have condemned the killings, while the United Nations has described the attack as a “grave breach of international humanitarian law”.

In Ramallah in the occupied West Bank, hundreds of Palestinians walked through the city’s streets, waving Palestinian flags and holding up photos of the murdered Al Jazeera staff.

In Tunis, the capital of Tunisia, hundreds more turned out to demand accountability for the Israeli strikes.

There were demonstrations and memorials in Berlin, the German capital, as well as in The Hague in the Netherlands. Protests were also held in Washington, D.C., and London, as well as in the Norwegian capital, Oslo, and the Swedish capital, Stockholm.

Demonstrators gathering outside a building in Washington, DC, which houses the headquarters of various media organizations, including NBC, Fox News, ITN and the Guardian, said their coverage of the genocide in Gaza has given Israel room to kill so many Palestinians and, notably, so many journalists.

The Zionist regime’s war on Gaza has killed at least 61,499 people and wounded 153,575 since October 2023.
