Sepahan Seeking 2025-26 AFC Champions League Elite Spot
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Seeking to grab the remaining two spots in the AFC Champions League Elite 2025-26 will be China's Chengdu Rongchen, Bangkok United of Thailand, Qatar's Al Duhail SC and Sepahan of Iran.
Sepahan will face Al Duhail for the coveted spot.
Both missed out last season, with 2022 AFC Champions League semi-finalist Al Duhail sealing its place after finishing as the 2024-25 Qatar Stars League runner-up.
It will be Al Duhail's first competitive match of the season, with the 2025-26 Qatar Stars League only kicking off on Thursday.
Rust may also be a problem for Sepahan as the 2025-26 Iran Persian Gulf Pro League starts next week.
Sepahan, who is seeking a 15th appearance on the continental stage, was 2007 AFC Champions League finalist.
The match will be held at the Khalifa International Stadium in Al Rayyan.
