Suwayda Sees Renewed Violence amid Clashes between SDF, al-Jolani Fighters

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Renewed fighting has been reported in Syria’s Suwayda after a ceasefire breach, as tribal forces backed by al-Jolani attacked several districts, while separate clashes erupted between the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and al-Jolani-affiliated militants in Deir Ez-Zur.

Syrian local sources said tribal forces allied with al-Jolani launched assaults on the Reema Hazem and al-Mazraa fronts in the city of Suwayda.

According to the sources, Druze forces stationed in the area responded forcefully to repel the attackers.

Armed tribal elements also shelled the village of Atil from positions in the al-Mazraa and Reema Hazem axes, using artillery and mortars, the sources added.

Separately, other Syrian local sources reported clashes between the Syrian Democratic Forces and militants under al-Jolani’s command along the Euphrates River in western Deir Ez-Zur countryside.

No further details have been released on the fighting in Deir Ez-Zur.
