Israeli Forces Kill Gaza Aid Seekers on Site amid Starvation Crisis
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza, driven by the Zionist regime’s ongoing blockade, has deepened as Israeli occupation forces continue targeting Palestinians gathering for food aid.
According to UN estimates, since late May at least 859 civilians have been killed in or near distribution centers operated by the so-called US- and Israel-backed Global Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), an American company contracted to manage aid in the besieged enclave.
In a damning report released Thursday, Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) described the GHF sites as scenes of “stampedes, suffocating crowd surges, violent looting, and lethal ‘crowd control’ measures,” holding the Israeli regime directly responsible for “institutionalized starvation and dehumanization” of Palestinians. MSF urged an immediate end to the militarized aid scheme.
The bloodshed continues. Earlier today Israeli forces opened fire on Palestinians near the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza, killing at least five. Hours later, two more civilians were martyred and another injured when occupation troops shot at people waiting for food near the Netzarim junction.
Meanwhile, the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) reported that aid airdrops into Gaza persist despite repeated warnings from international bodies that such operations are “expensive and ineffective.” UNRWA confirmed it has been barred from bringing any humanitarian assistance, including vital medicines, into Gaza for over five months — a policy it says has compounded the suffering of millions under siege.
