Israel Massacres Nearly 90 Palestinians, Targets Aid Seekers amid Famine in Gaza
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Israel has intensified its genocidal assault on the Gaza Strip, killing at least 86 Palestinians—most of them civilians seeking humanitarian aid—while enforcing a siege that has plunged the territory into mass starvation.
According to the Gaza Government Media Office, 71 of the victims were targeted by Israeli forces as they moved toward the Zikim crossing in northern Gaza in desperate search for food.
Medical sources confirmed that 51 people were killed and more than 648 others were injured in that single incident.
Separately, Israeli occupation forces murdered 20 more Palestinians near the Morag corridor, as reported by the Nasser Hospital in Khan Yunis.
Another 15 people were martyred in indiscriminate Israeli airstrikes across various parts of Gaza.
Among the dead was 35-year-old Palestinian photojournalist Ibrahim Mahmoud Hajjaj, killed in a targeted strike on Gaza City.
These atrocities occur as humanitarian organizations sound the alarm over catastrophic hunger levels in Gaza, particularly affecting children and the elderly.
The Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor has reported that approximately 1,200 elderly Palestinians have died over the last two months due to the Israeli regime's starvation policy, malnutrition, and deliberate obstruction of medical care.
“The actual death toll may be significantly higher,” the rights group warned, noting that hundreds of elderly people arrive at hospitals in critical condition daily, seeking basic sustenance.
The United Nations states that Gaza requires 500 to 600 aid trucks per day to meet minimal survival needs.
Yet only 269 trucks have been allowed to enter in the past four days.
Adnan Abu Hasna, spokesperson for UNRWA, confirmed that the limited aid reaching Gaza “does not reach the majority of the population,” underscoring the deliberate nature of Israel’s blockade.
Since launching its brutal war on October 7, 2023—under the pretext of retaliating against Hamas’ resistance operation—Israel has failed to meet its declared objectives of eliminating Hamas or securing the release of captives.
Instead, it has massacred 60,138 Palestinians, the majority of whom are women and children, and wounded at least 146,269 others.
The Zionist regime’s strategy of collective punishment and starvation has transformed Gaza into a death camp, as international condemnations continue to be ignored by Tel Aviv and its Western backers.
