14 More Palestinians Die of Starvation Amid Israeli Blockade on Gaza

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - As the Israeli regime tightens its brutal siege on the Gaza Strip, at least 14 more Palestinians --including two children-- have died from hunger in the past 24 hours, Palestinian health authorities announced on Monday.

The Gaza Health Ministry confirmed that hospitals recorded 14 new deaths due to famine and malnutrition, a direct result of the inhumane blockade imposed by the Israeli occupation.

Among the victims were two children who died of hunger, further exposing the regime’s weaponization of food deprivation.

This brings the total number of starvation deaths since October 2023 to at least 147, including 88 children.

The Israeli regime has enforced a crippling blockade on Gaza for 18 years and fully sealed all crossings since March 2, exacerbating the humanitarian catastrophe unfolding in the besieged enclave.

In parallel with the starvation campaign, Israeli forces intensified their bombardment of Gaza on Monday, killing at least 50 Palestinians and injuring dozens more.

In the central Nuseirat refugee camp, seven civilians were killed and 22 others injured when Israeli warplanes targeted a public gathering, according to Al-Adwa Hospital.

In northern Gaza City, two Palestinians lost their lives and several others were wounded when a college sheltering displaced families near Al-Saftawi neighborhood was bombed.

Early Monday, Israeli jets pounded multiple homes in southern and central Gaza, leaving at least 19 Palestinians dead and others missing under the rubble.

One woman was killed and several others injured in an airstrike on a family home in Deir al-Balah, eyewitnesses said.

In Gaza City’s al-Daraj neighborhood, three Palestinians were killed and several more injured in a separate Israeli attack.

Israeli bombardment also struck an apartment in al-Mawasi, west of Khan Younis, killing five more Palestinians.

Another airstrike on a three-story house in the so-called “Japanese” neighborhood killed 10 civilians and wounded over 30 others.

In al-Maghazi refugee camp, three Palestinians were killed and others injured in yet another assault on a residential home.

Despite global calls for an immediate ceasefire, the occupying regime continues its genocidal military campaign against Gaza, which has left nearly 60,000 Palestinians dead --the majority of them women and children-- since October 7, 2023.

The systematic destruction of Gaza’s infrastructure and the engineered famine are widely condemned as crimes against humanity.

The International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants in November for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant over war crimes and crimes against humanity committed in Gaza.

Simultaneously, Israel stands accused of genocide at the International Court of Justice.
