Araqchi to Visit China for SCO Ministerial Meeting
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi will travel to China on Monday to attend a meeting of the Council of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).
Spokesperson for the Iranian Foreign Ministry Esmaeil Baqaei said Foreign Minister Araqchi will travel to China at the invitation of his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi.
The spokesman said Araqchi will expound on Iran’s stances during the SCO ministerial meeting.
The top Iranian diplomat is also scheduled to hold talks with his foreign counterparts on the sidelines of the event.
The meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of SCO will be held in Tianjin on July 15.
The participants in the meeting are expected to exchange views on SCO cooperation in various fields and major international and regional issues and make the necessary arrangements for an SCO summit.
