Israeli Prison Unit Rocked by Sexual Abuse Scandal Involving Senior Officer

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – A senior commander in the Nahshon unit, the Israeli prison service's elite operations and riot control force, has been accused of repeated sexual abuse against a female subordinate, in a case that has sparked internal investigations and public outrage.

News1, a Hebrew-language news outlet, reported that a high-ranking officer in the Israeli prison system’s Nahshon unit raped and repeatedly abused a female guard under his command.

The woman, identified as a 31-year-old married officer whose husband also serves in the police force, endured the assaults over an extended period, according to the report.

The scandal came to light after another senior officer, reportedly facing disciplinary measures and possible dismissal, exposed the relationship in an attempt to defend himself.

He claimed he was the victim of a conspiracy after uncovering not only the officer’s conduct but also a pattern of theft and embezzlement within the unit.

Preliminary investigations have confirmed the existence of an inappropriate relationship between the commander and the female guard, with sufficient evidence prompting administrative action.

The Nahshon unit is known as a special operations force within Israel’s prison system, tasked with riot control, inmate transport, and internal security operations.

News1 did not disclose the specific prison where the incident occurred, nor the exact rank of the accused officer.
