Iran Condemns Israeli Regime for Atrocious Crime in Deadly Strike on Evin Prison

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s Foreign Ministry denounced the Israeli regime for committing grave war crimes after a deadly attack on Evin Prison’s medical facility in Tehran claimed 79 lives, including neighboring civilians and prison staff.

Esmaeil Baqaei, spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, said in a statement on X that each passing day reveals new layers of Israeli crimes against the Iranian nation.

He described the June 23 assault as a deliberate and savage act targeting a place where inmates’ families and friends had gathered to visit their loved ones.

Baqaei added that the victims were trapped and burned to death under the rubble along with a number of staff members and passersby.

“No person of good conscience can remain silent in the face of such cruelties that are grave violations of international humanitarian law and blatant war crimes,” he said.

He stressed that the Zionist entity must be unequivocally condemned and held fully accountable for “the flagrant atrocity crimes” it perpetrated against the Iranian people.
